EXPERIENCE
Vannessa is a Health Program Specialist with the California Department of Public Health Office of School Health. She has held this position since March 2024. She specializes in community health education and policies related to school-based health efforts. Vannessa has successfully led and assisted in the implementation of initiatives that support student health and wellbeing. For over a decade, she has been involved in many projects related to COVID-19 emergency response, quality and safety, policies and protocols, grant writing, marketing, research, and stakeholder engagement. Throughout the years, Vannessa has served local health departments, hospitals, community centers, and nonprofit organizations in their efforts to support students in need. Her focus continues to remain on uplifting the future generations of California and beyond.
