J. Paul Getty Trust
Les Borsay is the Emergency Planning Specialist for the J. Paul Getty Trust Security & Visitor Services Department. He handles the emergency preparedness and business continuity planning for the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. He has been with the Getty since 2000 and involved in emergency preparedness for the Trust since 2014. He sees Emergency Preparedness as an ever evolving challenge that goes beyond structural planning, but the training of staff for their own preparedness not only in the workplace but in their homes. When not working, Les enjoys cycling, triathlon, and time with his wife and daughter.
Accomplishments
Les has accomplished many things during his career in Emergency Management. One of the greatest, of course, was being hired by The Getty Trust over 22 years ago. Another significant, and even more relevant to BICEPP, was being elected to the presidency of BICEPP for four consecutive years from 1999 to 2022. His leadership has resulted in more stability, additional creative programs, and the foundation for sustained growth.
